Aisha Yesufu Appointed Deputy Chair of ADC Membership Revalidation Committee

Activist and public affairs commentator Aisha Yesufu has been named deputy chairperson of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Membership Revalidation Committee, PulseNets learnt.

The appointment was announced on Wednesday during the inauguration of the 20-member committee by the party’s National Chairman, Senator David Mark, who described the exercise as a critical step in repositioning the ADC for expansion, internal unity, stronger cohesion, and improved electoral competitiveness across Nigeria.

PulseNets reported that the committee is chaired by Kashim Imam, while Dr. Sekonte Davies will serve as secretary.

Speaking at the inauguration, Mark said the membership revalidation drive reflects the ADC’s founding ideals of justice, equity, accountability, and people-centred governance, stressing that accurate and verifiable membership records are fundamental to the party’s legitimacy, relevance, and national political success.

“A credible political party must be anchored on transparent and verifiable membership data. This process is not optional; it is essential for our growth, cohesion, and future electoral success,” Mark was quoted as saying.

The former Senate President explained that the committee, constituted by the National Working Committee (NWC), is mandated to supervise nationwide membership revalidation, fresh registrations, grassroots mobilisation, data harmonisation, and the deployment of both electronic and manual systems to guarantee transparency and proper documentation.

According to information obtained by PulseNets, Mark also disclosed that the ADC would introduce new membership cards embedded with state-specific security features, urging committee members to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, fairness, and inclusiveness while working closely with state and local party leaders nationwide.

Accepting the appointment, committee chairman Kashim Imam assured party members of a diligent and transparent process, describing the revalidation exercise as a defining moment in rebuilding the ADC into a truly inclusive, people-driven political movement.

“This assignment represents a turning point for our party. We are committed to conducting a process that is transparent, inclusive, and capable of restoring confidence in the ADC across the country,” Imam told PulseNets.

He added that the committee has a 30-day window to submit its final report, noting that mobilisation efforts had already commenced to register and revalidate members across Nigeria’s cities, rural communities, deserts, and riverine areas.
