Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has been laid to rest in his hometown of Arochukwu, Abia State, amid an outpouring of grief from family, friends, colleagues, and admirers.

PulseNets learnt that the celebrated actor passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 40 following a battle with kidney cancer.

His funeral rites commenced on Wednesday in Ujari Village, Arochukwu, with a wake-keep ceremony attended by mourners who gathered to pay their final respects.

The funeral service took place on Thursday at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, before his remains were conveyed to his family compound for final interment.
