Ayomide Adeleye Arrested: Shocking Details Behind the #JusticeForChristianah Case
Ayomide Adeleye, a 23-year-old Nigerian, responsible for the #JusticeForChristianah case, was apprehended by Nigerian Police Force (NPF) yesterday. Despite having grown up together, attending the same church, and being friends, Ayomide took the life of Christianah Idowu and buried her in secrecy.
Christianah had been reported missing by her parents on 19/08/2024. Shortly after, her alleged abductors reached out using her own WhatsApp contact, demanding a ransom of 1.5 million Naira. PulseNets reported that her parents managed to raise 350,000 Naira immediately, which was then requested to be deposited into a betting account via a bank transfer.
By 22/08/2024, the abductors, after receiving the money, asked for the bank statement of the sender to be emailed to them. After complying, the family lost contact. PulseNets spoke to sources who confirmed that, on the same day, funds were deposited into Christianah’s account and swiftly withdrawn into an anonymous Wema Bank account.
Investigations led to the discovery that the BVN linked to the betting account was also connected to the Wema Bank account. Further, PulseNets learned that the betting company had been notified, and they promptly froze the account, with only about 100,000 Naira withdrawn.
Ayomide, also known by his alias SK, remained active on social media, openly sharing personal details, including his bank information under giveaway posts. PulseNets also found that SK and Christianah had exchanged comments in past social media interactions. Armed with this information, investigators began monitoring SK’s phone and text activities. Eventually, tracking led them to his parent’s residence in Ikorodu, Lagos, where they pinpointed his location via his mobile device. Upon confirmation of his presence, authorities moved in and arrested him.
During the arrest, PulseNets learned that several pieces of evidence were found, including Christianah’s blue iTel A56 smartphone. Investigators also uncovered records of the money transfer, as well as details confirming Ayomide’s ownership of the locked betting account registered under his phone number. They also found his email address linked to the communications with Christianah’s family.
Shockingly, PulseNets was told that Ayomide had been communicating with mutual friends during this time, acting as if he had no knowledge of the crime while plotting his next move. On 03/09/2024, Ayomide confessed to killing Christianah and burying her in his father’s compound.

There are emerging, though unconfirmed, reports that Ayomide may have been involved in the deaths of his ex-girlfriend and biological sister in similar circumstances in 2018 and 2020. Additionally, Twitter users, PulseNets reported, speculate that Ayomide did not act alone and may have had at least four accomplices.
Nigerians nationwide have urged the Police Force to ensure a thorough investigation and bring all involved to justice.
