Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), praised Ademola Adeleke, the newly-elected governor of Osun State, for her tenacity and resiliency.
Obi said this while wishing Adeleke a prosperous and successful term as governor.
He congratulated Adeleke on his victory and appointment as Osun State’s sixth governor.
On Sunday, Adeleke, the well-known singer Davido’s uncle, took office as governor of Osun State.
The flagbearer for the Labour Party urged Adeleke to work for the State’s citizens.
In a series of tweets, Obi wrote: “I congratulate the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke @AAdeleke_01, on his inauguration and formal commencement of the elected mandate of his people.
“I salute the doggedness and resilience of Governor Adeleke, and wish him a fruitful and productive tenure, in the service of his people. -PO”
During the State’s July 16 governorship election, the newly sworn-in governor defeated Gboyega Oyetola.
After failing to win the 2018 governor’s race, he ran as a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he ultimately did.
