Asake Becomes Nigeria’s Most-Streamed Artist Ever on Spotify, Dominates Top Charts Across Africa
Singer Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has claimed the top spot as the most-streamed artist of all time on Spotify Nigeria.
The global streaming platform recently marked its fifth anniversary in Nigeria by releasing a list of the country’s all-time top five most-streamed artists. PulseNets learnt that Asake leads the pack, with Wizkid and Seyi Vibez following closely in second and third positions, respectively. Burna Boy secured fourth place, while Davido rounded out the top five.
PulseNets also obtained the ranking of the most-streamed songs of all time on Spotify Nigeria, where Asake’s hit ‘Remember’ claimed the number one position. Ayo Maff and Fireboy’s collaboration ‘Dealer’ came in second, followed by Fido’s ‘Awolowo’ at third, Wizkid’s ‘Kese’ at fourth, and Asake’s ‘Lonely At The Top’ in fifth place.
The influence of Nigerian music extends beyond its borders. PulseNets reported that Spotify Kenya’s top-streamed songs list is dominated by Nigerian acts, with Ruger’s ‘Asiwaju’ taking the lead, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ at second, Fireboy’s ‘Bandana’ third, and Asake’s ‘Lonely At The Top’ ranking fifth. Kenyan singer Bein’s viral track ‘Inauma’ captured the fourth spot.

On Spotify Ghana, Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, featuring Ghanaian sensation Black Sherif, tops the all-time most-streamed songs chart with ‘Wotowoto Seasoning.’ PulseNets learnt that his ‘Lonely At The Top’ follows closely in second place, while Black Sherif claimed the remaining third, fourth, and fifth positions with his chart-topping hits.
