Bayelsa State Flood: Biobarakuma calls for collaboration to help victims

Choose good leaders come 2023 — Biobarakuma tells Nigerians

Foremost aspirant and candidate of the Accord party for Nembe constituency III, Francis Biobarakuma has commiserated with flood victims in Bayelsa State, noting that both the state and the federal government must handle the flood-ravaged state holistically.

In an interview with journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt, Biobarakuma stated that all hands must be on deck to provide the people of the state with the decent and quality life they deserve.

According to the young aspiring legislator, well-meaning citizens in the state and corporate organisations that benefit from the state should increase their corporate social responsibility response.

He also took the chance to urge the federal government to begin the East-West road reconstruction work, emphasizing how crucial the road is to the economic activities of the Niger Delta region.

“In most places in the world, flood is a natural disaster, but in Nigeria, it appears more like a national tragedy because it was a catastrophe that could have been avoided or at the very least, the worst-case scenario reduced to a minimum level.. As you can see it is not affecting only Bayelsa but many parts of the country.”

“At this point we can only call on the state and federal government to provide intervention and assistance to lessen the load on the victims. It is regrettable that some people have lost their lives as a result of the devastating flood calamity.”

“I implore all corporate entities, well-meaning people, and politicians to assist the state Government in working together to salvage the situation.”
