In advance of the next general elections, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom on Thursday praised Titus Uba, a PDP candidate for governor of the state, as being the most qualified successor.

When elected governor, the governor praised Uba’s vision and pledged to advance agriculture and increase the security of people and property. He also urged voters to elect him as senator to represent Benue North-West in the National Assembly.

Tuesday, at continuous statewide campaign rallies conducted in Naka, Gwer West, and Makurdi Local Government Areas, Governor Ortom addressed throngs of party supporters.

Thousands of APC members and newcomers joined the PDP during the demonstrations in Naka and Makurdi, promising to rally support for the party’s electoral success.

In his speech, the governor expressed his happiness that Engr. Uba’s leadership vision was in accordance with the sustainability of Benue’s agricultural endowment, the cornerstone of its economy. He said that this was the reason the state will never cede its ancestral lands to invaders.

Ortom urged the people of Benue to elect Uba to follow him as governor, pointing out that as the speaker of the state assembly and a two-term lawmaker, he was familiar with the role of government and had what it took to enact sustainable development plans that would advance the state.

The election of Engr. Uba, according to Governor Ortom, would assist maintain the battle against the invasion of Benue lands. Governor Ortom urged the people of the State not to give their land up to anybody, no matter what it takes to secure the territory.

The Governor highlighted that if he wins a seat in the Senate, he would have the chance to do even more to guarantee that Benue does not continue to experience injustice, marginalisation, and persecution at the federal level.

In his speech, PDP candidate for governor Engr. Uba said that the state’s comparative advantage in agriculture was the reason he would improve on the security measures put in place by the Ortom government to prevent invading forces from taking over Benue territory.

He said that in order to strengthen the economy and generate riches for the populace, his administration will encourage individuals to engage in agricultural operations without restriction.

The wife of the PDP governor candidate, Mrs. Pauline Uba, and the state’s deputy governor, Engr. Benson Abounu, urged the populace to cast a large number of votes for the party’s candidates.

As someone who has demonstrated his ability to stand up for his constituents, Ortom is the ideal candidate for the Zone B senatorial seat, according to the sitting senator for Benue’s North-West Senatorial District, Barr. Orker Jev. He also urged voters to support Engr. Uba for governor because of his experience in public service and his inspiring leadership vision.

When welcoming decampees back into the PDP, Hon. Isaac Mffo specifically instructed them to vote for Governor Ortom for the Senate and Engineer Uba for governor.

Dr. Cletus Tyokyaa, director of the State Campaign Management Committee, said Ortom and Uba were seasoned individuals whose depth of knowledge was essential for government.

The Tyoshin and Makurdi Area Traditional Councils, as well as religious figures, were individually presented with Engr. Uba by Governor Ortom, who received their blessings for their electoral triumph.
