BREAKING: Makinde Sacks SSG, Names New Secretary in Oyo Cabinet Reshuffle

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle, with the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo, relieved of her duties with immediate effect.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday in Ibadan by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, PulseNets learnt.

According to information obtained by PulseNets, the governor has appointed Prof. Musibau Babatunde as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), marking a key change in the state’s top administrative structure.

In the same exercise, Makinde redeployed Temilolu Ashamu from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, a move aimed at strengthening the state’s economic coordination framework.

PulseNets reported that the governor also elevated his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Ademola Aderinto, to the position of commissioner-designate. He is expected to be forwarded to the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in line with constitutional provisions.

Further appointments announced include Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security, while Kolawole Elijah Akanmu was named Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning, PulseNets was told.

The latest cabinet adjustments underscore Governor Makinde’s ongoing efforts to reposition his administration for improved service delivery and policy execution across critical sectors of the Oyo State government.
