Court adjourns suit seeking to nullify APC National Assembly primaries in Rivers

Appeal Court sacks Enugu Rep member, declares LP candidate winner

The Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned to the 25th of July, 2022, to continue hearing on a suit filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State, seeking the nullification of the National Assembly primaries of the APC in the State.

When the matter was mentioned in Court on Friday, counsel to the parties asked the Court for more time to enable them regularize their documents.

The PDP is claiming that the APC in the State conducted their delegate congress and primaries of the National Assembly on the 18th and 19th of May, 2022, respectively, contrary to Electoral guidelines set by the independent National Electoral Commission.

The party wants the court to nullify the process.

Justice Stephen Daylop-pam after hearing from counsels, adjourned till 25th of July, 2022, for parties to file and respond to motions.
