Full List of APC Governorship Candidates Ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 Elections

As the 2027 governorship race gathers momentum across Nigeria, the ruling APC party’s primaries have produced candidates in several states, while results in some others remain pending or postponed.

The outcomes obtained by PulseNets showed a mix of consensus arrangements, landslide victories, and ongoing contests as stakeholders position ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In Abia, Eric Opah emerged as the APC governorship candidate after polling 126,977 votes to defeat Henry Ikoh, who secured 5,905 votes.

In Adamawa, the final result had yet to be officially announced as of press time, although Ahmed Galadima was reportedly leading the contest.

For Akwa Ibom, Governor Umo Eno emerged as the APC candidate through a consensus arrangement adopted by party stakeholders.

The APC governorship primary in Bauchi was postponed and is expected to continue today, according to reports monitored by PulseNets.

In Benue, Governor Hyacinth Alia maintained a wide lead and was expected to officially emerge as the party’s governorship candidate.

Borno recorded a consensus outcome, with Mustapha Gubio emerging as the APC candidate.

Governor Bassey Otu also secured the APC ticket in Cross River through consensus.

In Delta, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori emerged victorious after polling 345,375 votes in the party primary.

Governor Francis Nwifuru clinched the APC governorship ticket in Ebonyi through consensus.

Similarly, Governor Peter Mbah emerged as the APC candidate in Enugu following a consensus agreement among party delegates.

One of the most closely watched contests took place in Gombe, where Jamilu Gwamna emerged victorious with 247,161 votes. He defeated former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, who polled 12,120 votes, while former Minister of Transportation Saidu Ahmed Alkali secured 11,612 votes.

Governor Umar Namadi emerged as the APC governorship candidate in Jigawa through consensus.

In Kaduna, Governor Uba Sani secured victory after polling 459,393 votes during the APC primary election.

Governor Abba Yusuf emerged through consensus in Kano, while Governor Dikko Radda also clinched the APC ticket in Katsina via consensus.

Kebbi Governor Nasir Idris equally emerged through consensus.

The APC primary in Kwara was postponed and is expected to continue today.

In Lagos, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat emerged as the APC governorship candidate after polling 657,917 votes to defeat Lanre Kamal, who secured one vote.

The primary election in Nasarawa was also postponed and will continue today, party officials told PulseNets.

Governor Umaru Bago emerged as the APC candidate in Niger through consensus.

In Ogun, Senator Solomon Adeola won the APC governorship ticket after polling 304,055 votes to defeat Abayomi Hunye, who scored zero votes.

The final result from Oyo had not been officially declared, although Senator Sharafadeen Alli was reportedly leading as of the latest updates monitored by PulseNets.

Governor Caleb Mutfwang was also leading by a wide margin in Plateau and was expected to emerge as the APC governorship candidate.

In Rivers, Ogundu Kingsley Chinda emerged as the APC governorship candidate after polling 268,497 votes. PulseNets learnt that he became the consensus candidate after three aspirants, including Governor Siminalayi Fubara, withdrew from the race.

Governor Ahmad Aliyu emerged as the APC governorship candidate in Sokoto through consensus.

In Taraba, Governor Agbu Kefas maintained a commanding lead and was expected to emerge victorious.

Baba Malam Wali also led by a wide margin in Yobe and was projected to emerge as the APC candidate.

Governor Dauda Lawal secured the APC  ticket in Zamfara through consensus.

Meanwhile, APC governorship primaries were not conducted in Anambra, Bayelsa, Edo, Ekiti, Imo, Kogi, Ondo, and Osun due to their off-cycle governorship election schedules.
