During a vigil at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Ogun State, suspected kidnappers launched a deadly attack, resulting in a tragic incident.
PulseNets reports that the incident occurred in Abule-Ori, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area. Tragically, one pastor lost his life, and seven church members were abducted.
According to Soji Ganzallo, the State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, the assailants stormed the church premises around midnight while the vigil was underway. However, upon receiving a distress call, the So-Safe Corps promptly responded and successfully rescued the abducted individuals, who were found unharmed.
During the rescue operation, one of the kidnappers was fatally shot, while several others sustained significant injuries in the ensuing exchange of gunfire.
Ganzallo expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of the police and the So-Safe Corps. Together, they are now intensifying their pursuit of the remaining suspects who fled the scene, with the aim of apprehending them alive.
