Kogi government and Dangote's dispute over Obajana Cement is resolved by the National Security Council

The Obajana Cement Company in Kogi has been ordered to reopen by the National Security Council (NSC).

Following a disagreement between the management, led by Aliko Dangote, and the Kogi government, the enterprise was shut down.

Maigari Dingyadi, the minister for police affairs, verified that President Muhammadu Buhari ordered the reopening.

The resolution, which aims to maintain peace, came when the warring sides agreed on something.

According to Dingyadi, the government is committed to giving its residents jobs rather than eliminating factories that would result in job losses.

“An agreement has been reached between the Kogi government and the Dangote Cement in Kogi on the need to re-open the factory.

”We do hope that the parties involved will respect this agreement and come to terms with the memorandum of understanding signed,” he added.

Under the supervision of Professor Ibrahim Gambari, the President’s Chief of Staff, the agreement was struck.
