Man Remanded by Ondo Court for Sexually Abusing a Toddler

According to PulseNets, a Magistrate Court in Akure, Ondo State, remanded 23-year-old Dominic David in police jail for allegedly sticking his finger inside a five-year-old girl’s private area.

David allegedly performed the offence on January 24, 2023 near Basic Road and Odode Street in the Idanre neighbourhood.

It was discovered that he used cookies to get the little girl into his flat where he sexually assaulted her. victim who described to her mother how David took down her trousers and stuck his finger inside her genitals.

David was arrested for the same offence last year, according to police prosecutor Matins Olowofeso, who testified in court at his arraignment on a single count of indecent sexual assault.

“Last year, David did same thing to the victim’s elder sister who was ten years old then. He signed an undertaking not to do such again upon his release,” Olowofeso said.

According to Olowofeso, the offence violated Sections 4(1) and (2) of the Ondo State 2021 VAPPLAW.

The defendant’s plea was not accepted. The accused was to remain in police detention, per the decision of presiding magistrate Folashade Aduroja. The case was postponed until February 9 by Aduroja.
