NNPC Ltd. Strengthens Leadership With Appointment of Andy Odeh and Morenike Adewunmi
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has appointed two highly experienced professionals, Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, into top executive roles designed to boost stakeholder engagement and corporate communications.
According to an official statement obtained by PulseNets, “Mr. Odeh has been named Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Mrs. Adewunmi assumes the position of Chief Relations Officer.”
Andy Odeh’s Extensive Track Record
Mr. Odeh brings with him more than thirty years of hands-on experience across communications, business administration, oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting. PulseNets gathered that prior to joining NNPC, he spent an impressive 26 years at Nigeria LNG (NLNG), where he built an enviable reputation for excellence.
At NLNG, he held pivotal positions in Community Relations and Development, Business Logistics and Services, Information Management and Technology, Corporate Communications, Government Relations, Regulatory Compliance, and eventually rose to the office of General Manager of External Relations and Sustainable Development.

Industry insiders told PulseNets that Odeh played a defining role in NLNG’s rebranding process and designed one of Nigeria’s most successful micro-credit schemes targeted at empowering host communities. He also initiated the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting, which is still considered a benchmark for rewarding journalistic excellence in the energy sector.
He is an alumnus of the University of Jos, University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigeria Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). Odeh is also widely acknowledged for spearheading major PR and advertising campaigns for leading Nigerian and international brands.
Morenike Adewunmi’s Legal and Stakeholder Expertise
Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi, on her part, is a respected legal professional with more than 25 yea

rs of dedicated service in the oil and gas industry. PulseNets learnt that she spent much of her career at the Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN), where she developed unrivalled expertise in stakeholder management and regulatory advocacy.
During her time at Shell, she served as Regulatory Affairs Manager, overseeing statutory compliance, permits, and government engagements. Later, as Government Relations Manager, she built effective partnerships with the Presidency, ministries, departments, and regulatory agencies—an effort described by a former colleague who spoke to PulseNets as “the backbone of Shell’s ability to sustain its license to operate.”
She is particularly recognised for her mastery of non-technical risk management, her emotional intelligence, and her strategic leadership. Adewunmi studied law at Olabisi Onabanjo University before attending the Nigerian Law School, earning qualifications that underpin her deep understanding of both regulatory frameworks and corporate governance.
