Obi, Kwankwaso Meet Seriake Dickson Amid OK Movement Crisis Ahead of 2027

The presidential and vice presidential candidates of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, NDC, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have met with the party’s national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, amid the leadership crisis rocking the OK Movement.

The meeting comes as the coalition of the Kwankwassiyya and Obidient movements continues to face internal disagreements, with factions reportedly emerging within the movement ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development has raised concerns among members of the movement and supporters of the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket, particularly as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections gradually intensify.

Senator Dickson confirmed the meeting with Obi and Kwankwaso in a post shared on his official Facebook page.

Dickson said the meeting, which took place at his Abuja residence, centred on the “positive state of affairs of our party and to prepare for the forthcoming campaigns, which are expected to commence later this month”.

The NDC national leader also appealed to members and supporters of the party to remain united as the party prepares for the forthcoming political campaigns.

He called on “all members, supporters and stakeholders of our great party to unite, remain steadfast and work together for victory for all candidates of our party”.

The meeting between Obi, Kwankwaso and Dickson comes against the backdrop of the reported crisis within the OK Movement, with attention now focused on efforts to strengthen the coalition and position the NDC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
