Nembe — A combined operation involving Amotoi Global Services, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Marine Police has dealt a blow to illegal refining activities in the territorial waters of Opu-Nembe, Bayelsa State. The team successfully destroyed and burned down a significant number of illegal refining camps and wooden boats used for bunkering operations.
While returning from the successful operation, the team has claimed to have encountered resistance from individuals believed to be associated with illegal bunkering activities in the area. Reports indicate that stones and bottles were thrown at the crew from the Opu-Nembe waterfront.
