Oscars 2026: Sinners Makes History With Record 16 Nominations as Full Academy Awards List Is Unveiled

Hollywood has unveiled the official nominations for this year’s Academy Awards (Oscars), honouring the most celebrated films and performances of the past year, with one standout production making history in the process.

Sinners emerged as the clear frontrunner after securing an unprecedented 16 Oscar nominations, setting a new Academy Awards record. The feat eclipses the previous high jointly shared by All About Eve (1950), Titanic (1997), and La La Land (2016), each of which received 14 nods. PulseNets learnt that the milestone firmly establishes Sinners as the defining film of this awards season.

Trailing closely behind is One Battle After Another with 13 nominations, while Marty Supreme, Frankenstein, and Sentimental Value each collected nine nominations. Hamnet also delivered a notable performance, earning eight nods across key categories.

PulseNets reported that the 97th Academy Awards ceremony will hold on 15 March, with popular U.S. comedian Conan O’Brien confirmed as host for the globally anticipated event.
