PDP crisis: Secondus accepts Atiku’s appointment despite Wike’s threat

Uche Secondus, the former PDP chairman, has accepted the position of adviser to Atiku Abubakar, the party’s nominee for president.

The former national chairman of the opposition responded by stating his willingness to collaborate with the former vice president.

“I have just received the news of my appointment as Technical Adviser to H.E @atiku Abubakar in his 2023 Presidential Campaign.

“The mission to Rescue Nigeria that was initiated in 2018 will come to a fulfillment by the Special Grace of Almighty God”, he tweeted.

Atiku revealed the names of certain party veterans who will counsel him during the 2023 election campaign on Monday.

Bukola Saraki and Pius Anyim, past presidents of the Senate, as well as Ibrahim Shekarau and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former governors of Kano and Osun, are among them.

Despite earlier advice from Governor Nyesom Wike, Secondus accepted the advisory position.

Wike threatened to crush anyone standing with his former ally at a meeting in Omagwa, Ikwerre Local Government Area, in late August.

“We will take every might we have, we will leave our enemy and finish you first. All of you going to Abuja to hold meetings with our enemies, I’m going to finish you to the last”, he vowed.

Secondus responded by denouncing the Rivers helmsman’s “disdainful threat” to exterminate party members who support Atiku.

“Wike, you cannot crush anybody. I cannot fight or join issues with you, only God can crush”, said the former PDP leader.
