Rivers Governor Fubara Endorses Tinubu’s Re-election, Urges Supporters to Join Wike-led Rainbow Coalition
PORT HARCOURT – Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has publicly declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 while urging his political supporters to align with the Rainbow Coalition, the political movement championed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The governor made the declaration on Wednesday during the groundbreaking and foundation laying ceremony of the Rivien Medical Industry project in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, PulseNets learned.
Speaking before supporters at the event, Fubara called on his loyalists to identify with the Rainbow Coalition, describing it as the political platform they should embrace ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Join the Rainbow Coalition. That is where we are going as we prepare for the future,” the governor said.
The endorsement comes amid increasing political realignments in Rivers State as political actors continue to position themselves ahead of the next general elections.
PulseNets learnt that recent developments within the state’s political space have also intensified speculation that the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda, could emerge as the governorship candidate of Wike’s political family. However, neither Wike nor the Rainbow Coalition has officially confirmed any governorship candidate.
