Rivers State Government announces closure of parts of Ikwerre road

The state Ministry of works on Thursday announced that some roads in Port harcourt  along the popular Ikwerre road will be closed to enable workers commence proper construction of Rumuokwuta/Rumuola overhead bridge.

PulseNets gathered work had ready started in the area weeks before now but was majorly on demolition of marked buildings and creating spaces for proper construction.

The communiqué reads;

GOVERNMENT SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Rivers State Ministry of Works wishes to inform the general public that parts of Ikwerre Road by Rumuola Junction will be closed to traffic from Friday the 23rd of September 2022, to enable the contractor commence construction works on Flyover 11 at Rumuokwuta/Rumuola Junction.

The Ministry therefore appeals to road users to kindly follow the trafic diversions listed below.

   

DIVERT CHART

1. From Rumuola Road divert through Psychiatric Hospital Road to Rumuigbo Junction.

2. U-turn at Rumuola Road by Ebony Junction.

3. From Rumuokoro axis divert through Psychiatric Hospital Road and Obi-Wali Road respectively.

4. From Wimpy Junction divert through Wike Road or Oroazi and Ebony Roads respectively.

5. U-turn at Kala back to Wimpy.

We regret the inconvenience this will cause road users.
