In a significant move, the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, has submitted the first batch of ministerial nominees to the Senate. Among the nominees, there is great anxiety surrounding the exclusion of Bayelsa State’s nominee for a ministerial position.
The Bayelsa nominee, whose name has not been disclosed yet, represents a promising development for the state, as it offers an opportunity for enhanced representation and participation in the federal government.
The Senate received the list from President Bola Tinubu through his chief of staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila during a plenary session at the national assembly. The list, which includes 28 names, was sent to beat the 60-day deadline.
The nomination of ministerial candidates is seen as a crucial step in shaping the next phase of the administration, as it allows for the selection of individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise to help drive the nation forward.
As the Senate President, Goodwill Akpabio, unveiled the list of the 28 ministerial nominees during a plenary session, the exclusion of the Bayelsa nominee garnered attention, with many eager to learn more about the nominee, as many believe that the exclusion was a result of the fight between Chief David Lyon and Chief Timipre Sylva at the level as to who should be nominated from the state.
