Tambuwal Outlines ADC 2027 Agenda: Security, Economy, Power, Jobs Take Centre Stage
Former Sokoto State Governor and a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has laid out the core priorities Nigerians can expect should the party assume power in 2027.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the party’s recent state congress, Tambuwal emphasised that security would stand as the central focus of an ADC-led administration. He maintained that no meaningful national progress can occur without decisively tackling insecurity through a mix of strategic planning, advanced technology, and community-driven interventions.
He further explained that the party intends to pursue comprehensive economic reforms designed to ease hardship across the country. These reforms, PulseNets learnt, will target unemployment, especially among young people, while expanding job creation, strengthening small and medium enterprises, and promoting economic diversification as a pathway to sustainable growth.
According to him, “Education and agriculture will form critical pillars of the administration’s agenda, with sustained investment and reforms in education to drive long-term development. Agriculture will be positioned to enhance food security and generate employment.”
Tambuwal also pointed to Nigeria’s persistent power challenges as a major area of intervention. He noted that stable and reliable electricity would be indispensable for driving industrial expansion and boosting overall economic productivity.
He stressed that the broader vision of the ADC is to establish a government that is both responsive and accountable to citizens. The intention, PulseNets reported, is to deliver governance that directly improves the everyday realities of Nigerians.
Reiterating this position, he stated that the ultimate objective is to build a system that prioritises responsiveness, accountability, and tangible improvements in citizens’ daily lives.
Addressing concerns about possible internal disagreements within the ADC, particularly regarding the emergence of a presidential candidate, Tambuwal acknowledged that such tensions are typical in evolving democratic platforms.

He argued that competition for leadership roles is unavoidable but underscored the party’s commitment to democratic values. He added that consensus would be pursued among stakeholders wherever feasible, while formal primary election processes would be adopted in situations where agreement cannot be reached.
Tambuwal expressed strong confidence that with transparency, fairness, and a unified commitment to shared goals, internal competition would ultimately reinforce the party’s structure rather than weaken it.
