Tinubu denies meeting with US President Joe Biden and criticises Peter Obi’s supporters

May 29 Inauguration: Tinubu To Inherit Insecurity, Subsidy Crisis, And More

Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has denied meeting with US President Joe Biden.

A photo of the APC presidential candidate meeting with Biden in the United States went popular on social media.

However, Tinubu stated that the viral photograph of him meeting with Biden was a hoax and should be ignored.

He accused supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi of disseminating the photos.

Tinubu stated Obi’s fans manipulated the viral photograph, according to Bayo Onanuga, APC PCC Director of Media and Publicity.

“A viral photograph showing Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and U.S President, Joe Biden in talks at the White House is the latest in the series of misinformation being dished out by the political opposition.” Onanuga told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.

“We cannot just fathom the purpose of the mischief and the falsehood which emanated from the rabid followers of Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate.

“The apparently photoshopped image surfaced Tuesday night, on the heels of news that Asiwaju will embark on a foreign trip this weekend.”

Tinubu, according to Onanuga, was in Abuja, not the United States.

He did, however, announce that the APC presidential contender will be visiting the United States this weekend.

Tinubu, he added, was scheduled to fly to Bayelsa for a rally on Thursday.

“His first port of call will be Chatham House in London, where he will speak on his Action Plan for Nigeria,” he said.
