Tompolo Denies Issuing 21-Day Ultimatum Over Nnamdi Kanu’s Detention

The Ibe-Ebidouwei of the Ijaw Nation, Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has firmly denied reports circulating on social media that linked him to a 21-day ultimatum issued to the Federal Government over the continued detention of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu.

According to a statement obtained by PulseNets, Tompolo’s Media Consultant, Dr. Paul Bebenimibo, dismissed the viral publication in Warri on Sunday, describing it as a fabrication orchestrated by mischief-makers.

Dr. Bebenimibo clarified that the ex-militant leader “has absolutely nothing to do with the issue of Nnamdi Kanu,” stressing that the false report was the handiwork of those bent on tarnishing Tompolo’s image because of his unyielding stance against illegal crude oil activities in the Niger Delta.

“This misleading story was planted by Tompolo’s detractors who feel threatened by his unwavering commitment to sanitising the oil-producing areas,” the statement read.
“They have failed in the past and will continue to fail because High Chief Tompolo remains focused on eradicating crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta.”

PulseNets learnt that the statement also reaffirmed the ex-militant general’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, noting that the ex-militant leader is fully aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda and committed to promoting peace and development in the oil-rich region.

“We wish to reassure the Federal Government, under our dynamic President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, that Tompolo stands solidly behind him and will continue to contribute towards national stability,” Bebenimibo stated.
