EPL: It's been a disaster since I returned to Man United, says Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo has asked Manchester United to extend his current contract at Old Trafford and allow him go on loan.

Ronaldo made this request through his agent Jorge Menges during their talks with the Red Devils hierarchy on Tuesday, COPE reports.

Before now, the 37-year-old had made it clear he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer in order to participate in next season’s Champions League football.

Ronaldo’s 24 goals for Manchester United last season could not help them qualify for Europe’s elite competition where the Portugal icon is regarded as king.

But the 37-year-old is now prepared to extend his current United deal if it means he can spend the season out on loan at a club in the Champions League, according to Spanish radio station COPE.

Ronaldo returned to the UK for crunch talks with the club on Tuesday as Manchester United maintain he is not for sale.
