US terror attack warning: We’re working, according to the DSS

Sowore: DSS Warned Against Nigeria Activist

The Department of State Services, or DSS, has responded to the security warning from the American Embassy that Abuja may be the target of a terrorist attack this week.

According to PulseNets, the U.S. Mission identified government institutions, houses of worship, schools, markets, shopping centres, hotels, and bars as targets in a brief statement on Sunday.

Following the warnings, the Service reacted by urging calm and caution from Nigerians.

It pledged to work with other security organisations to keep the peace and made a plea to Nigerians to provide security organisations with relevant information about dangers and suspicious criminal activity in their area.

The statement reads, “The Department of State Services has received several enquiries relating to the security advisory issued by the US Embassy in Abuja, today, 23/10/22. The public may recall that the Service had variously issued similar warnings in the past.

”The Service calls for calm as it works with other law enforcement agencies and stakeholders to maintain peace and order in and beyond Abuja.”
