YPP Chairman defection is dismissed by the Labour Party due to allegations of corruption.

2027 presidency: LP begins grassroots mobilisation amid internal crisis

After Bishop Namo, the Young Progressives Party’s suspended state chairman, was recently accused of corruption, the Labour Party, or LP, in Nasarawa State claims it will not take him into its fold.

The YPP’s national leadership reportedly suspended Namo due to allegations of corruption in the state chapter of the party.

It was discovered that the party’s candidate for the Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency, John Mark, took a bribe from a desperate politician to have his name illegally substituted in the upcoming general election.

Namo then announced on September 21 that he was a supporter of the Labour Party and that he had been accepted into the organisation.

Alexander Emmanuel, the LP’s chairman for Nasarawa State, stated on Sunday that Namo would not be admitted into the party until the accusations made against him in his previous party had been proven false.

Alexander declared at a news conference that the Labor Party was a political party that valued peace. Due to our dislike of problems, our members in Nasarawa State are known as calm individuals.

“We heard that Bishop Namo was suspended by the YPP over some corruption allegations.

“We do not know if they are true or false at the moment, but we will only accept him into the Labour party when we are sure that he is innocent of the allegations”.
