The African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) illuminated the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites on Saturday as the entertainment world gathered to celebrate excellence in African cinema.
The ceremony, hosted by Nigerian television host and radio personality Ik Osakioduwa, dazzled audiences with a night filled with glamour, excitement, and recognition of outstanding talent in the African entertainment industry.
In a celebration of diversity and creativity, actors, directors, producers, and other industry professionals gathered to honour achievements across various categories.
The red carpet was ablaze with stunning fashion statements as celebrities and guests arrived in style, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening.
Former Big Brother Naija contestants Neo Akpofure and Venita Akpofure, cousins, claimed top honours at the awards ceremony for best male and female dressed.
Their attire, inspired by their native Delta culture, was a bold statement aiming to showcase the opulence and elegance of the Delta people on a grand scale.
A notable highlight of the evening was the acclaim received by the film ‘Breath of Life,’ which garnered 11 nominations and secured victory in four categories.
Genovevah Umeh received the award for Best Supporting Actress, while Demola Adedoyin claimed the title of Best Supporting Actor.
Wale Ojo received recognition as the Best Lead Actor, and BB Sasore was celebrated as the Best Director.
The AMVCA also recognised the contribution of the rising skit maker Isaac Ayomide Olayiwola, aka Layi Wasabi, for his work, Medical Negligence and Copyright Infringement, in the category of ‘Best Digital Content’.
