With only a week to the 2023 general election, five of Nigeria’s 18 political parties have endorsed the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The five parties made the announcement on Saturday during the grand finale of the PDP’s presidential rally, which was held at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, Adamawa State’s capital.

The parties are the African Democratic Congress, the Allied Peoples Movement, the National Rescue Movement, Action Alliance, and the Action Peoples Party.
The announcement was delivered by Yusuf Dantalle, National Chairman of the APM, who spoke on behalf of the parties.
Chichi Ojei, the APM’s lone female presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential campaign, was replaced by Atiku’s nomination on Friday by the APM’s National Chairman.
