One of the senatorial aspirants who contested the recently-held primary election of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo Central Senatorial District, Engineer Faozy Oladotun Nurudeen, has dumped the party.
Nurudeen, said that he has dumped APC and joined Accord Party.
He made these announcement on Friday.
PulseNets recalls that Nurudeen was one of the seven aspirants who indicated interest to represent Oyo Central Senatorial District on the platform of APC.
The politician in a statement made available to PulseNets on Friday explained that the APC primary election was not truly representational of the choice of the people.
He added that he joined the Accord Party in order to rescue the people of the senatorial district.
He further stated that he intended to achieve his aim in APC, but the primary election was not democratic.
He said that he has left APC for Accord Party as a result of the undemocratic nature of APC.
He said, “This is to inform all and sundry of my membership resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC). True representation must reflect real democracy.
“When we started this journey, it was indeed to bring adequate representation to the good people of Oyo Central Senatorial District. This, we intended to achieve on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“However, the primaries of the All Progressives Congress was not truly representational of the choice of the people. This will not deter us, this will not stop us.
“Our resolution is simple. We are driven by the quest to deliver good governance to the people regardless of the political party or platform and for this, we have now chosen the Accord Party to deliver this task”
