Israel strikes back against Palestine following violence at Jerusalem

In the early hours of Friday morning, the Israeli military conducted a rare series of airstrikes into Lebanon, in response to recent attacks by Palestinian militants.

These strikes came shortly after the Israeli military targeted militant sites in the Gaza Strip. Both attacks were carried out as a retaliation to rockets being fired by Palestinian militants in Gaza towards southern Israel, as well as rockets launched from Lebanon into northern Israel.

The violence surrounding the Jerusalem holy site has further escalated with these developments.

The Israeli military has not yet provided any specific details regarding its targets in Lebanon, but has confirmed that it targeted tunnels and weapon sites in the Gaza Strip.

This current wave of violence began on Wednesday, during an incident at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, located in Jerusalem’s Old City.

This is where a group of worshipers had gathered, and the situation quickly escalated, leading to confrontations between Palestinians and Israeli security forces.
