Dangote Truck Crushes Family in Enugu, Fresh Outrage Erupts

Tragedy struck at Four Corner Junction in Enugu State on Wednesday after a trailer reportedly belonging to the Dangote Group crushed an entire family.

Eyewitnesses who spoke to PulseNets confirmed that the victims were inside a car that was completely flattened by the heavy-duty truck. “Nobody survived the crash. The vehicle was reduced to nothing,” one of the witnesses told PulseNets in shock.

A video obtained by PulseNets and currently circulating online clearly shows the mangled remains of the car under the truck, further fuelling nationwide anger over what many describe as the “reckless culture” of Dangote drivers on Nigerian highways.

The latest incident comes barely days after Ruth, the sister of Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, died from injuries she sustained in another accident involving a Dangote truck. At the time, Dangote Group had announced that preparations were underway to fly her abroad for specialised treatment before she eventually passed on.

Activist VeryDarkMan, who has consistently criticised Dangote Group drivers, told PulseNets that Nigerian roads have become unsafe due to their alleged recklessness. “The driver that killed Ruth didn’t even have a valid licence. Yet these trucks are allowed to keep endangering lives daily,” he alleged.

PulseNets reported that the activist has now intensified his campaign, urging the authorities to probe the company’s fleet operations and to enforce stricter regulatory oversight.

As of the time of filing this report on Wednesday, neither the Enugu State Police Command nor the management of Dangote Group had issued an official statement regarding the Four Corner Junction tragedy.
