Jonathan: If You Rig 2027, Nigeria Is Heading to Hell — Bode George Warns INEC
Former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George, has issued a stern caution to the incoming Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), warning against any attempt to manipulate or rig the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking in an exclusive interview obtained by PulseNets from Arise Television, George stressed that Nigeria would be “heading straight for hell” if INEC dares to impose a president rather than allowing citizens to freely choose their leader in 2027.
George, a respected PDP chieftain, also addressed speculations about former President Goodluck Jonathan contesting the presidency in 2027. He explained that Jonathan’s political fate would ultimately be settled by delegates during the PDP’s National Convention.
According to George,
“My plea is simple. The new INEC Chairman must arrive with a conscience. If Nigerians are not allowed to decide, and leadership is imposed, then we are on the path to hell. The will of the people must prevail. That is the essence of democracy.”
He further reminded PulseNets that the PDP had already reached a zoning decision.
“In our last meeting, the party resolved clearly that the next presidential candidate must come from the South. Is Jonathan not from the South? Of course, he is. But let me emphasize, nobody from the South is excluded from contesting. At the convention, every interested aspirant from the South will compete fairly for the party’s ticket.”

Political observers who spoke to PulseNets noted that George’s warning reflects growing tensions ahead of the 2027 elections, as Nigerians closely watch whether INEC can deliver a credible and transparent process.
