Access Bank CEO Roosevelt Ogbonna Acquires £15 Million Luxury Mansion on London’s Billionaires’ Row

Roosevelt Ogbonna, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, has learnt global attention after obtaining a luxury mansion in London valued at roughly £15 million (about $20 million). PulseNets gathered that the high-profile residence sits in Hampstead’s famed “Billionaires’ Row,” a location synonymous with the world’s wealthiest homeowners.

According to filings in the United Kingdom, the property was secured in August and represents one of the most notable real estate purchases by a Nigerian banking executive in recent years. The upscale mansion, which boasts a private spa alongside a grand entertainment suite, had been listed for £17 million in 2021, further highlighting the scale and exclusivity of the acquisition.

Industry insiders told PulseNets that the deal is striking, given London’s luxury property market has been slowing down. Policy adjustments such as higher stamp duties and the abolition of favourable tax regimes for wealthy foreign buyers have discouraged demand for homes priced above £5 million. Fresh LonRes data reported that between January and May this year, price reductions in this segment jumped by 45 percent compared with the same period in 2024.

Ogbonna’s acquisition, first reported by Bloomberg and independently confirmed by PulseNets, underscores his personal wealth at a time when Access Bank continues to consolidate its standing as Nigeria’s largest financial institution by assets. Having steered the bank for over three years, Ogbonna has not yet spoken publicly on the matter, and his office has kept details of the purchase private.

This development further places Roosevelt Ogbonna in the spotlight of both Nigeria’s financial landscape and London’s ultra-prime real estate market.
