The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Rivers State protested on the streets of Port Harcourt, the protest was led by Comr. Tekena George, who happens to be Financial Secretary of NANS Zone B (South South).
Also Comr. Goodness N-epa, the National president of Niger Delta Student Union Government (NIDSUG) in solitary with Nigerian students was part of the protest.

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS) NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST INCESSANT ASUU STRIKE; THE LEADERSHIP OF NANS RIVERS STATE CALLS ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO PUT A PERMANENT END TO ASUU STRIKE.
Sequel to the resolution of the NANS National Congress held at sokoto state University on the 19th February, 2022, The Leadership of NANS Rivers State took to the streets of PortHarcourt to drive home the agitations to “End ASUU strike Permanently” today, 28th February 2022.
We strongly believe that if 5% of the wards or children of Political Leaders in the country are in Public institutions, the Government would have been quick to address the demands of ASUU so Students can return back to campuses.
At the end of each ASUU strike, the negative setback on Nigerian Students is unbearable.
Students that live off campus are mandated to pay extra accommodation fees, a course of 4-5years becomes 6-7 years since 1999 and the time lost to this Incessant Strike can’t be recovered.
At the end of every strike action, Lecturers get paid, Government officials get paid, No one pays Nigerian Students for time wasted.
Employment comes with age limits, NYSC mobilization comes with age limits, the Federal Government should stop toying with our life and career plans.
Enough is Enough!!!
We are calling on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency Put a Permanent end to ASUU strike.
Education is the bedrock of every society. You can’t give what you don’t have and as such, much attention should be given to the development of the educational sector in the country.
Education is a right and not a Privilege.
Let me also use this medium to appreciate the Honourable Commissioner for Police, Rivers State Command for ensuring that Security personnels were on ground to guarantee safety of Nigerian Students in the peaceful protest.

Earlier today I joined the Leadership of National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) to Demonstrate against the incessant ASUU strike that has raveged the educational System for a very long time now.
Students are the greatest losers in this pyramid of Endless negotiations. House rents are unrefundable, Employments/NYSC are time bound, and the academic calender are rushed immediately after the strikes yet we complain of half baked graduates on the streets.
I join NANS and every University students to say enough is enough. Let the FG and ASUU immediately find a common ground that would lead to a permanent solution to this issues.
