Natasha Osawaru-Idibia Defects from PDP to NDC, Meets Dickson, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso
Hon. Natasha Osawaru-Idibia, the member representing Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly and wife of Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
The Edo lawmaker announced her defection during a formal visit to the residence of Henry Seriake Dickson, the National Leader of the NDC and former Bayelsa State Governor, where she was formally received into the party and presented with her membership card.
PulseNets learnt that the political move was also confirmed by Hon. Natasha Osawaru-Idibia on her Instagram page, where she shared photographs alongside Senator Dickson, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
Before dumping the PDP, Hon. Osawaru-Idibia was serving as a lawmaker in the 8th Edo State House of Assembly under the platform of the opposition party.
PulseNets reported that her defection comes amid a growing wave of high-profile political realignments within the NDC, following the recent association of notable political figures including Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso with the emerging political platform.
Political observers believe the latest development could strengthen the NDC’s influence in the South-South region as the party intensifies consultations and grassroots mobilization ahead of the 2027 general elections.
