As traffic develops on the Abuja-Keffi Road, thousands of stranded people groan

As gridlock developed on the constantly congested Abuja-Keffi road, thousands of public and private employees are today moaning in pain inside vehicles and by the sides of the roadways.

The inability of both private and passenger vehicles to approach Abuja is alleged to have caused the stalemate.

The lengthy line of cars that began on the AYA side of Abuja Road at the time of this report has extended all the way to Mararaba in Nasarawa State.

No official announcement has been made regarding the sudden development of the jam, but Federal Road Safety Corps officers were observed travelling to the Abuja axis to locate the problem and propose a solution.

Expectedly, commercial motorbike drivers, also referred to as “Okada,” are taking advantage of the traffic gridlock to generate strong business.

Where available, a drop from Nyanya now attracts N500 instead of the previous N200 price.

A number of workers who were unable to stand by the roadside for more than four hours are going home.
