The former vice president, also the Waziri Adamawa, extended his heartfelt sympathies to the state government and those impacted by the tragedy.

Paul Ibe told PulseNets, “The Waziri’s generous gesture is a testament to his unwavering dedication to humanitarian efforts.” The Maiduguri flood, which displaced approximately 500,000 people and caused widespread destruction, represents a serious humanitarian crisis.

PulseNets reported that Mr. Ibe also highlighted that, alongside his donation, Atiku urged his friends and associates to further contribute to the ongoing relief efforts. This mirrors Atiku Abubakar’s previous humanitarian actions, notably during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he mobilised his network to address critical needs.

Waziri’s arrival at Maiduguri airport, accompanied by family and close associates, was warmly received by Tahir Monguno (SAN), senator representing Borno North, and Kaka Lawan (SAN), senator for Borno Central. His visit continued with a significant courtesy call to Governor Babagana Zulum at the Government House, where the donation for flood relief was officially announced.
