BREAKING: NDLEA Arrests Pretty Mike, Uncovers Cocaine, Meth, and Tramadol in Nationwide Crackdown

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, carried out a dramatic raid at Proxy Nightclub, located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, where an ongoing drug party was reportedly disrupted.

PulseNets learnt that over 100 persons, including the owner of the club, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for intensive screening.

Sources told PulseNets that cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were seized from both the suspects and the club’s storage room during the operation.

According to intelligence obtained by PulseNets, NDLEA operatives had infiltrated the party as undercover guests around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, before storming the venue around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, in line with the agency’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

An NDLEA source who spoke to PulseNets disclosed that the operation followed a tip-off about an exclusive “drug rave” organized within the facility.

“The team had to move in after confirming that narcotics were being shared and consumed openly. The operation was swift and professional,”
the source said.

COCAINE FACTORY DISCOVERED AT LAGOS AIRPORT

In a separate breakthrough, PulseNets obtained details of a major seizure at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos, where 70 parcels of cocaine, cleverly concealed in cocoa butter formula body cream containers, were uncovered by NDLEA officers on October 14, 2025.

The cocaine, weighing 3.60 kilograms, was reportedly packaged as personal effects destined for London, United Kingdom, via an Air Peace flight.

A cargo agent identified as Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the shipment for export, was promptly arrested. Further investigations led to the arrest of two principal suspects — Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, the CEO of Mutiu Adebiyi & Co Travel Agency — both nabbed in Lagos between October 18 and 20.

MORE SEIZURES ACROSS STATES

Meanwhile, PulseNets learnt that NDLEA operatives in Enugu State foiled an attempt by a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark, to export 103.59 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside a diabeta herbs coffee tea pack to the Philippines via an Ethiopian Airlines flight on October 22.

In Kwara State, officers arrested Umar Abubakar, 40, at Bode Saadu, Moro LGA, after discovering 21,950 capsules of Tramadol 250mg concealed inside a 100-litre water heater on October 21.

Similarly, two suspects — Auwal Musa, 26, and Salihu Bala, 22 — were intercepted at Dan-anacha checkpoint in Taraba State with 450,000 pills of Tramadol and Exol-5 while conveying the drugs from Onitsha, Anambra State, to Mubi, Adamawa State.

PulseNets also learnt that NDLEA patrol teams along the Okene–Lokoja Highway in Kogi State seized 162.2 kilograms of skunk, a potent strain of cannabis, on October 24, while 128 kilograms of the same substance were recovered from a suspect, Abubakar Muhammad, 55, in Keffi, Nasarawa State, on October 22.

DISTRIBUTOR OF “LOUD” NABBED IN LEKKI

In Lagos, NDLEA operatives arrested Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, a mother of two and alleged major distributor of Canadian and California Loud, during a raid at her Lekki residence on October 17.

“She operated a vast distribution network across Lekki, Ajah, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and VGC,”
an NDLEA official told PulseNets.

Recovered from her home were 500 grams of the illicit substance.

In Ikorodu, another operation on October 23 led to the arrest of Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe at Solomade Estate, where officers recovered 275 litres of skuchies — a dangerous cocktail of blackcurrant drink, cannabis, and opioids.

ELDERLY SUSPECTS, RURAL RAIDS, AND FIREARMS

A 75-year-old man, Echendu Onuoka, and a 60-year-old woman, Aukana John, were also arrested in Abia State for possession of skunk, weighing 4.7kg and 225 grams respectively. Both were apprehended at Ovum and Apanta villages, in Obingwa LGA, on October 22.

In Ondo State, 150kg of skunk was seized during a raid at Lot Camp, Ikun Akoko, while two suspects — Bashir Mohammad, 50, and Samini Ahmed Tijjani, 35 — were arrested with 234.5kg in Saminaka, Kaduna State, on October 24.

Another set of suspects, Isah Usman, 50, and Salvation Okoler, 18, were intercepted along the Abuja–Kaduna highway with 8,600 Tramadol 225mg pills and Rohypnol tablets.

At Seme Border, Jacob Ojugbele was arrested with 55kg of skunk, while Amusa Oluwabukola was caught with 121.3 litres of skuchies in Badagry, both on October 22.
