BREAKING: Supporters of Peter Obi, ‘Obidients’ defy police, stage rally at Lekki

‘Obidient’ rallies: Bwala says APC in decline, Atiku made Obi popular

Numerous thousands of Peter Obi’s Labour Party (LP) followers are currently demonstrating at the Lekki toll gate in defiance of a police order.

Many of the fans could be seen marching in large groups along the Lekki-Epe Expressway while yelling “Obi! Obidient!”

Images from the event were shared by a supporter, @Nkemchor, who claimed that police were powerless to stop them.

“The police presence at Lekki did not stop youths from gathering. Very proud of this generation. If Lekki is your route join them!”

Another supporter @eklepatience also tweeted, “All we want is a genuine leader that’s ready to serve Nigerians we’re not asking for too much nah, just give us Peter Obi. Festac Lagos is Obidient.”

According to PulseNets, the Lagos State Police Command on Friday issued a directive prohibiting the holding of any sort of protests at the Lekki Toll gate, citing an active court order that did just that.

There are signs that other areas of Lagos, including Festac Town, Surulere, and the National Stadium, are also hosting parallel rallies.
