Buhari removes NDDC administrator

Effiong Okon Akwa, the acting administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has been fired by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The administrator’s termination followed the end of his involvement with the commission, according to a statement from the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs that was made available to PulseNets on Thursday.

For the period of the forensic audit into the NDDC’s operations, Akwa was named acting administrator of the commission.

The NDDC constitution’s new Management Team and Governing Board were also approved by the president.

The National Assembly must be informed of the candidates for the new management group and Governing Board in order for them to be approved.
