Cholera Outbreak: Nembe Ibe USA, Congress Donate Medical Supplies, LGA Boss Applauds Diaspora Support

In the wake of the cholera outbreak in Nembe Local Government Area (LGA), Nembe Ibe USA and Nembe-Se Congress extended a lifeline by donating medical supplies to address the healthcare crisis. PulseNets learnt that these supplies were promptly distributed to hospitals and medical facilities across the LGA, aiming to mitigate the outbreak’s impact.

Dr. Sagbe, who spoke to PulseNets on behalf of Nembe-Se Congress, explained the purpose of the initiative:

“These items are to be distributed to all hospitals and medical facilities within Nembe LGA. In line with government directives, the treatment of patients should be free. Hospital management is therefore instructed not to charge patients for services.”

Hon. David Alagoa, the Executive Chairman of Nembe LGA, expressed profound gratitude to the diaspora community for their timely intervention. He told PulseNets:

“Our brothers in the diaspora have consistently supported us, demonstrating their commitment to the development of Nembe. At a time when we are grappling with a cholera outbreak, their prompt response has been invaluable.

“Through several discussions with Nembe Ibe USA and Nembe-Se Congress, we have established a collaborative approach to addressing these challenges. While the state government and local communities have contributed significantly, the demand for sustained assistance remains.

“We deeply appreciate this gesture and urge our diaspora community to continue engaging with us not only in healthcare but also in other critical aspects of local government administration. This marks the beginning of a stronger partnership.”
