American entertainment mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was taken into custody in Manhattan, New York City, on Monday evening following a sealed indictment handed down by a grand jury, PulseNets learnt. The indictment, according to PulseNets sources, indicates that sufficient evidence has been presented to charge Combs with a crime.
As reported by the New York Times and confirmed to PulseNets, a source familiar with the matter revealed that Combs is facing serious accusations related to racketeering and sex trafficking. However, the specific charges remain undisclosed due to the sealed nature of the indictment.
Combs’s legal team, in response to the indictment, expressed their disappointment, emphasizing that the 54-year-old mogul had cooperated fully with authorities throughout the investigation. PulseNets was told that Combs voluntarily relocated to New York last week, anticipating the charges. His defense team stressed his reputation as a beloved music icon, successful entrepreneur, and devoted family man.
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community,” his legal team stated. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal.”
This indictment adds to the growing legal challenges Combs faces, PulseNets reported, noting that he has been recently entangled in multiple sexual assault lawsuits. These cases have drawn heightened public attention, starting last November when his ex-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, filed a lawsuit accusing him of years of sexual and physical abuse.
The civil allegations have already caused significant professional setbacks for the entertainment mogul, and the racketeering and sex trafficking charges could severely impact his decades-long legacy, PulseNets learnt.
