Diddy Officially Begins Prison Sentence at Fort Dix
New Jersey — American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially checked in at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in New Jersey to begin serving his prison sentence.
According to court and prison records, Combs’ projected release date is May 8, 2028, factoring in time already served and potential credits for good conduct.
The 55-year-old Bad Boy Records founder was sentenced earlier this year to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted on charges related to the transportation of individuals to engage in prostitution.
Reports indicate that Fort Dix, a low-security federal facility, was chosen partly due to its drug treatment and rehabilitation programs, as well as its more favourable conditions for family visitation.
While Combs was acquitted of the more serious racketeering and sex-trafficking charges, his conviction marked the culmination of a high-profile legal battle that drew international attention and divided public opinion across the entertainment industry.

Diddy’s legal team has yet to issue a formal statement regarding his incarceration, but sources close to the artist say he intends to “focus on rehabilitation and reflection” during his time behind bars.
