Dominic Joshua Charity Foundation Provides School Fee Grants to 500 Students in Cross River State

DOMINIC JOSHUA CHARITY FOUNDATION OFFER’S SCHOOL FEE GRANT TO 500 STUDENTS IN CROSS RIVER STATE

As part of efforts to improve access to education among secondary school students in Cross River State, The Dominic Joshua Charity Foundation disbursed school fees to 500 students to facilitate the education of students from poor backgrounds.

The cash grant disbursement ceremony was held on Monday 29th January, 2024 at the West Africa Peoples Institute, WAPI, Calabar. The foundation’s Project Officer, Mr. Omori Okokon handed over cash grants to beneficiaries who were selected in a transparent process initiated primarily to encourage and restore hope to students that have dropped out of school as a result of lack funds for fees, cultural hindrances to education, or non-availability of schools in their immediate communities.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman Dr. Dominic Joshua, Mr. Omori said the foundation places high commitment in seeing to the successful launching of other programs in the coming month. Annually, the foundation has made frantic efforts in providing scholarships to students in other part of the nation and it was agreed that this year (2024) it will begin her program in Calabar, Cross River State.

While commending management of the West Africa Peoples Institute, WAPI for granting the foundation access to host the cash disbursement ceremony at the school for free, Mr. Omori Okokon on behalf of the foundation promised to carry out full and intensive renovation in one of the old and hideous classes in the school.

Also, as part of the activities to mark the ceremony, Dr. Dominic Joshua was accorded an award on behalf of the foundation from the Cross River State Communism for Child Right Education for his unending benevolence to the people of Cross River State and humanity at large.

The University of Calabar, UNICAL and University of Cross River State, UNICROSS Students’Union Government, SUG Vice Presidents, Comrade Precious Zion and Comrade Theresa Theodore graced the event.

Also present were the University of Cross River State, UNICROSS Students’Union Government, SUG Senate President, Senator Glory Ansa and volunteers of the Dominic Joshua Charity Foundation among others.
