EFCC reacts as list of 58 ex-governors under probe emerges

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday raided different residential areas along the East West road in Port Harcourt to arrest suspected internet fraudsters.

PulseNets gathered from eyewitnesses that the officials forcefully broke in the homes of the suspects to make the arrests. One eyewitness narrated “They carried from my estate in Pristine estate Rumuekini”.

Another eyewitness who resides in Alakahia told PulseNets, he said ” They came in very early in the morning, according to the gateman, they used ladder to access the compound. They surrounded the 4 corners of the compound so that the occupants wouldn’t escape. They left with a couple of guys and car. All our doors have been dented. The electric fence have been destroyed too. I think they raided other places before coming to my place from what I heard”.

PulseNets can confirm over three places were raided by the EFCC, but at the time of writing this article, the number suspects that were arrested and properties seized are not yet known.

An insider in EFCC in Port Harcourt confirmed the raid to PulseNets but details of the operation is still classified but will be made public soon.
