There are strong indications that suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, will face charges bothering on illegal possession of guns and live ammunition.
PulseNets reliably gathered that Emefiele will face a two-count charge of possessing one single-barrel shotgun (JOJEFF MAGNUM 8371), a crime that violates Section 4 of the Firearms Cap F28 Laws of the Federation 2004 and is punishable under Section 27 (1) (b) (i) of the same act.
The embattled CBN boss is also accused of illegally possessing 123 rounds of live ammunition (cartridges).
Sources say that the offences were allegedly committed at No.3B Iru Close, Ikoyi, Lagos “on or about the 15th June 2023”.
Recall that Emefiele was arrested on June 10 and was a day later suspended by President Bola Tinubu.
