EPL: Rodgers is counting on Iheanacho to lead the team to win against Leeds United

Brendan Rodgers, manager of Leicester City, feels Kelechi Iheanacho will make an impact against Leeds United on Thursday.

Iheanacho has only started one of Leicester City’s ten league games this season.

The 26-year-old has scored one for the Foxes.

For the encounter, Leicester City will be missing James Maddison.

Maddison has been suspended for the game at the King Power Stadium after receiving his fifth yellow card of the season last week against Crystal Palace.

Iheanacho, Dennis Praet, and Ayoze Perez are all in the running to take over for the England international.

“We have a number of players who can play that position,” Rodgers said during his interaction with the media

“Kels can come in and do that role. Dennis Praet can play it well too.”

“What I know with Kels is that he always gives everything. He came into the game against Crystal Palace and was effective in the game. That is all we want from the guys off the bench.

“Can they make an impact? He did that, he had a couple of runs and a couple of moves within the game. If he starts or if he comes into the game, he can make an impact,” Rodgers stated.

Wilfred Ndidi, Iheanacho’s international partner, will miss the game due to injury.
