Former Arsenal and Manchester United attacker, Robin van Persie has reportedly decided against taking up the chance to be a coach under Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.
Reports had earlier this week emerged that Ten Hag, who is currently the coach of Ajax, is closing in on being appointed as Man United’s next permanent manager and will consider bringing Van Persie to be part of his coaching staff at the Premier League giant.
However, according to ESPN via Soccer News, Van Persie, who led Man United to their most recent Premier League title in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season at Old Trafford nearly a decade ago, has rejected the advances of Ten Hag.
The report added that the 38-year-old is more than happy with his current role as an assistant and striker coach at Eredivisie giants Feyenoord, where he began his club career.
