FAAC Shares ₦2.103 Trillion to Federal, State, and Local Governments for September 2025
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has disbursed a total of ₦2.103 trillion as Federation Account Revenue to the Federal Government, States, and Local Government Councils for September 2025.
According to information obtained by PulseNets from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (OAGF), the disclosure was contained in a communique signed by the OAGF spokesperson, Bawa Mokwa, following the October 2025 FAAC meeting held in Abuja.
The total shared revenue represents a decline from the ₦2.2 trillion distributed in August 2025.
PulseNets learnt that the ₦2.103 trillion distributable sum comprised ₦1.239 trillion in statutory revenue, ₦812.593 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and ₦51.684 billion generated from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).
A breakdown of the FAAC communique obtained by PulseNets showed that ₦3.054 trillion was the total gross revenue available in September 2025. From this amount, ₦116.149 billion was deducted as cost of collection, while ₦835.005 billion went into transfers, interventions, refunds, and savings.
Decline in Statutory Revenue, Rise in VAT
The gross statutory revenue for the month stood at ₦2.128 trillion, which was ₦710.134 billion lower than the ₦2.838 trillion recorded in August 2025.
In contrast, VAT collections surged to ₦872.630 billion, showing an increase of ₦150.011 billion over the ₦722.619 billion recorded in August 2025.
Revenue Distribution Breakdown
From the ₦2.103 trillion total distributable revenue:

The Federal Government received ₦711.314 billion,

The State Governments received ₦727.170 billion,

The Local Government Councils got ₦529.954 billion, and
-
₦134.956 billion (representing 13% derivation revenue) was shared among the oil-producing states.
For the ₦1.239 trillion statutory revenue, the breakdown shows:

The Local Governments received ₦227.457 billion,

While ₦134.956 billion went to the benefiting states as derivation.
From the ₦812.593 billion VAT revenue:

The Local Governments received ₦284.408 billion.
Similarly, of the ₦51.684 billion EMTL,

The State Governments got ₦25.842 billion, and

The Local Governments received ₦18.089 billion.
Sectoral Performance
FAAC reported that during the month under review, Import Duty, VAT, and EMTL all recorded significant increases. However, Companies Income Tax (CIT) and CET Levies dropped substantially. Meanwhile, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) witnessed a marginal increase, while Oil and Gas Royalty and Excise Duty declined slightly.

A senior FAAC official told PulseNets, “The variations reflect both seasonal tax patterns and the current macroeconomic realities. As non-oil revenue continues to strengthen, we expect more stability in monthly disbursements.”
